By accessing or using Kitty Vault ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Kitty Vault is a web-based todo and note-taking application that allows you to:

Create, organize, and manage todos and notes
Connect notes using wiki-style links
Visualize connections in a graph view
Organize content on a canvas
Track habits, goals, and productivity
Export your data in various formats

3. Account & Authentication

Passphrase-based authentication: Your account is secured by a unique passphrase. You are responsible for keeping your passphrase secure and confidential.

Keep it safe: Write down your passphrase and store it securely. We cannot recover your account if you lose your passphrase.
Don't share: Do not share your passphrase with anyone.
Reset: You can reset your passphrase from Settings, which will generate a new one and log out all other sessions.

4. User Content

Your content is yours: You retain ownership of all content you create in Kitty Vault, including todos, notes, and any other data.

License to operate: By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

Prohibited content: You agree not to use the Service to store or share:

Illegal content
Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
Malicious code or software
Content that violates the rights of others

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
Use the Service to harm, harass, or abuse others
Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

6. Service Availability

We strive to keep Kitty Vault available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

Scheduled maintenance
Emergency repairs
Factors beyond our control (e.g., internet outages)

7. Data & Backups

Export your data: You can export your data at any time from Settings. We recommend making regular backups.

No guarantee: While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee against data loss. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

8. Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Data → Danger Zone. This will permanently delete all your data.

By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in behavior that harms the Service or other users.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting on the website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
